| We were inspired by Peter's costume in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe |

We tried several different options for the 1940's female's costume as seen below, we wanted a costume that represented the clothing of the era and would be authentic to the times, however we also needed our actress Georgia to feel comfortable in the costume and to be able to run in it.
We chose this costume as we felt it was the most historically accurate to the 1940s and Georgia was able to run in it.
Hair and Makeup
We were slightly concerned about how much makeup to use on our actress as she is playing a younger teenager and we wanted it to be accurate, however they makeup would need to be visible in the long shots and pan, meaning it needed to be slightly more obvious. We were also keen to represent the historical context of our film through the makeup, as at this time bold eye and lip makeup was popular and commonly seen in hollywood films.
For her hair we decided to something reminicent of the traditional pin curls of the time, however we needed to use a style that represented the hairstyles popular at the time but would also need to withstand the wind, rain and the running scenes.
